New Building Opportunities here on the central coast

Los Osos, CA
Templeton, CA

Do you or someone you know own property in Templeton or Los Osos? New opportunities are on the horizon.

For those in Los Osos, the California Coastal Commission recently approved the Los Osos Community Plan with modifications, potentially lifting a 35-year building moratorium in the coastal town. The plan, which addresses community concerns about water supply and habitat protection, sets rules for development that aim to safeguard these resources. If you’ve been waiting to develop in Los Osos, the community plan proposes to permit a maximum growth rate of 1% for new residential units annually, equating to 50-60 building permits being issued each year.

For those in Templeton, individuals on the TCSD waitlist have begun receiving notices that they will have the opportunity to purchase water units for future development. Historically, Templeton has been restrictive in development due to a lack of available water resources. These notices are being issued by way of a letter notifying individuals on the waitlist that they have a short period of time to purchase the available units. If purchased, they thereafter have a set timeline to submit their development project to the County of SLO or forfeit their units.

We are currently consulting our clients in both the Los Osos and Templeton areas to be prepared for when their opportunity arises. If you or any of your clients need guidance or more info with the current changes to either area of SLO County, we’re well educated and can provide you with the valuable info needed in making your property decisions.
